Job Title: Part-Time Lodge Cook (Home-Style / Non-Restaurant Role)

Location: BigStyle Lodge, Killadoon, Co. Mayo
 Contract: Fixed-term 
 Hours:Part-time, mainly weekends
 Salary: €16 per hour

Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable and organised Part-Time Cook to prepare simple, high-quality meals for small groups staying at our lodge. This role involves cooking dinner on Fridays, preparing a light continental breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays, and providing a simple soup-and-sandwich-style lunch on Saturdays.

This is not a restaurant environment and suits someone comfortable with straightforward, home-style cooking in a professional but relaxed setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a simple group dinner on Friday evenings
  • Prepare a continental-style breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings (e.g. cereals, fruit, bread, yogurt, tea/coffee)
  • Prepare a light lunch on Saturdays (soup and sandwiches or similar)
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen
  • Basic food preparation and stock awareness
  • Clean down the kitchen after service
  • Requirements
  • Food Safety / HACCP Level 1 or Level 2 (Level 2 preferred; training can be supported if needed)
  • Basic knowledge of food allergens and safe food handling
  • Ability to work independently and manage simple meal preparation
  • Reliable, punctual, and well-organised
  • Previous cooking experience (home, café, lodge, or similar) desirable but not essential
  • Oversee and coordinate a small team of volunteers assisting with kitchen preparation, food service, and clean-up

Job Title: Yoga Teacher

Location: BigStyle Lodge, Killadoon, Co. Mayo
Freelance: Four to six 45 minute – 60 minute classes per week (primarily weekends; additional midweek classes may be required)
 Hours: 20 hours a week on Fridays – Sundays, potential overtime during midweek events
 Salary: Please state your fee per class when applying

 

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a qualified Yoga Teacher to deliver engaging and professional classes for our guests at BigStyle Lodge. You will help create a calm, welcoming, and supportive environment that enhances our guests’ wellness experience.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Deliver 4–6 yoga classes per week, primarily on Saturday and Sunday mornings, with additional midweek classes as required
  • Prepare class plans and ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all participants
  • Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere
  • Clean and maintain yoga mats and any other class equipment
  • Communicate effectively with guests and staff regarding class details and schedules

Requirements

  • Qualified and insured yoga teacher (please provide proof of insurance)

Job Title: Freelance Surf Instructor – Backup / On-Call List

Location: BigStyle Lodge, Killadoon, Co. Mayo

 

Purpose of the Role

BigStyle Lodge Surf School is seeking experienced freelance surf instructors to join our on-call backup list. This list will be used to provide support for large classes, holiday cover, or staff absences throughout the season.

This is a flexible, freelance opportunity with the chance to work in a beautiful coastal setting with a fun and supportive team.



Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver surf lessons safely and professionally to groups of varying sizes and skill levels
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed, including ASI/ISA standards and lifeguarding requirements
  • Assist with setup and care of surf equipment (boards, wetsuits, etc.)
  • Be available on short notice to cover staff holidays, sickness, or larger class bookings

Requirements

  • ASI / ISA Surf Instructor Level 1 (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience delivering surf lessons to groups of different skill levels
  • Strong communication and guest-facing skills
  • Flexible and reliable, able to work on short notice
  • Ability to work independently and maintain professional standards
